Yellow stream frogs live in various lowland habitats, mostly in the proximity of water bodies. They are predominantly tree dwellers that feed on small insects and other invertebrates. If threatened, they are able to quickly leap great lengths to safety. The frogs spawn in water bodies with strong currents. Spawning to full
development takes 50 days for this species.
