These primates are diurnal and mostly spend their time in the mid-story and understory of the forest. Family groups are made up of two to twelve individuals, comprising of an adult male and female and their offspring. Young indi- viduals are carried by the adult male and only given back to the mother for feeding. Their abil- ity to adapt enables red-mantled saddle-back tamarins to also survive in secondary or culti- vated forests.
