Giraffes are social animals that live in loose groups, the composition of which is constantly changing. Due to their height of up to 5.8 meters giraffes are the „look-out towers“ of the savannah, which is why other ungulates often seek their presence as protection. The only natural enemies are lions, although a giraffe’s kick can be fatal to them. When escaping danger they can reach speeds of up to 56 km/h.
