Nicobar pigeons live in the forests and scrublands of the Nicobar Islands, Indonesia, the Philippines, the Solomon Islands and Papua New Guinea. They breed in larger colonies on small, forested coral reef islands just off the coast. They forage on the forest floor looking for seeds, fruits and small invertebrates. They lay only one egg with brooding lasting approx. 30 days.
