Did you know?
Within the smooth plumage a layer of air is pre served. Just before they leap out of the water, this air is released as small bubbles, reducing wa ter resistance and friction around their bodies. This helps the penguins to leap from the water onto land, while sometimes reaching heights of up to 1.8 m.
