Did you know?
Brown anoles live in open biotopes and cultivated landscapes. The males are very territorial. They prefer to sit in bushes or on walls of up to 1 m, while females prefer hiding on the ground. When other rival males are in close proximity, males nod their heads and show off their red-throat dewlap. This dewlap is also stretched in the mating season or when sunning themselves. Anoles predominantly eat insects and spiders.
