The ochre-marked parakeet lives in the treetops of humid lowland forests up to altitudes of around 1,000 m. However, it also thrives in agricultural areas with sufficient tree cover. Its diet consists of fruit and seeds. The clutch consists of two to four eggs, which are laid in tree hollows with brooding for 22–25 days.
