Did you know?
The great green macaw lives in dense, tropical rainforests, where it can be found at altitudes of up to 1,000 metres. Its main food source is the nuts of the forest almond tree. The tremendous strength of its massive beak enables it to crack open these hard nuts, which other large macaws cannot get at. Its clutch consists of two to three eggs, which are incubated for around 29 days.
