Grevy’s zebras are the largest of the zebras: they measure 1.6 meters high at the shoulder and weigh up to 430 kilograms. They are characterised by large ears and stripes that are narrow and close-set. These animals are social and occur in all conceivable constellations. One can come across stallion groups, mare groups and mixed groups but also individual stallions with very defined territories. Within the herd they recognize each other by their individual markings.
