Did you know?

The cat-sized crowned lemurs are well known for the different coloured crowns on their heads. They do not have a distinct day/night cycle and are both diurnal and nocturnal. Individuals scent mark their territory with urine as well as scent glands located in the anal region or the neck.

Nahrung:

Predominantly fruits, but also fresh leaves and insects in the dry season

Lebensraum:

Primarily deciduous dry lowland forest and semi-dry forest on the North Coast of the Cap d’Ambre Peninsula (Madagascar)

Fortpflanzung:

1–2 offspring; gestation period: ca. 125 days
