Did you know?

Black crakes are widespread in a range of wetlands in most of sub-Saharan Africa. They feed on worms, shells, crustaceans, insects, frogs and tadpoles. They can grow up to 20 cm, although the males are usually bigger than the females. A typical clutch has between one and five eggs with a 23-day brood cycle.
