Purple honeycreepers look very similar to red-legged honeycreepers. The most striking difference is from the yellow legs compared to the red-legged honeycreeper. These birds live in forest or plantations where they feed on fruits, insects or flower nectar. The clutch comprises of 2–3 eggs that are incubated for 12–13 days.
