Did you know?
Alligator snapping turtles are among the largest freshwater turtles in the world. They are ambush predators that lie in wait, well-camouflaged for their prey. A successful ambush essentially depends on the element of surprise. Two reddish, worm-like lures on the end of their tongues wiggle about luring prey into striking distance.
