Visitors to the zoo can look forward to a whole range of culinary delights in each theme world. Whether it is an indulgent breakfast at Hacienda Las Casas, snacks from the jungle village or a Sunday brunch on the terrace of the Kiwara Lodge, we cater for everybody’s taste with diverse culinary options ranging from snacks to buffets.
Food as fresh as from the market: The Marché restaurant in Founder’s Garden offers a large selection of healthy eating options from a fresh, self-service buffet. Here, juice is squeezed before your eyes and salads and delicious pasta dishes are freshly prepared. Select your own dishes and enjoy your meal in the refurbished Richard Wagner hall of the congress hall. Marché is an ideal place to eat if you are visiting our zoo in a large tour group. Seating is available here for up to 80 guests inside and up to 100 guests outside in the summer on the open terrace.

Before you hop on a boat and time travel through the Earth’s history, you can build up your reserves at the Bamboo Bar. Here, light snacks and refreshments are served opposite the boat jetty on the lower village square.
Anyone embarking on a real expedition through Gondwanaland, may naturally also be really hungry. In the Marché Restaurant Patakan with seating for up to 150 guests, you can sample cuisine from the Far East while enjoying fascinating views of lush tropical surroundings. You will be spoilt for choice when you help yourself to the exquisite daily buffet full of Asian culinary delights. Relax in the lounge with the Buddha statue, while your children romp about in the play area. Alternatively, enjoy your lunch in one of the two Sala Thai Houses, which seat a further 120 guests and are situated on the bank of the jungle river Gamanile.

Welcome to one of the most serene places of our zoo. In the Pond Café, which is run by the Kandler family, you are able to enjoy a peaceful view of the water together with cormorants and pelicans. Here you will find homemade pastries and ice cream or if you fancy something savoury, you can try a barbequed sausage.
After an adventurous tour around Pongoland you can take a break in the African jungle village. Here you can enjoy refreshments such as snacks, ice creams or cool beverages, before you continue your tour of the zoo.
Our Kiwara Lodge stands out in the midst of the Kiwara Savannah. Here you can help yourself to African specialities from the buffet and then sit down to enjoy a fantastic view of the giraffes, zebras and oryx. Alternatively, you can enjoy the atmosphere of our authentic atmospheric lounge, while your children have fun in the play area. Seating for 120 guests inside and a covered area that seats 250 guests outside provide ample space, even for larger groups

Whether it is a hearty Mexican chilli con carne or a juicy breaded pork steak with Salsa, in the Hacienda Las Casas a menu full of culinary delights from South America awaits you. In the refurbished art nouveau building you can enjoy a stylish atmosphere and be waited on at your table. The restaurant Hacienda Las Casas provides seating for 120 guests inside as well as additional seating for 40 guests in a covered terrace area outside and is therefore an ideal location for both small and large groups.
